GREEN-E CERTIFIES COMMERCE ENERGY'S CLEAR CHOICE PROGRAM IN TEXAS
Commerce Energy's Texas Clear Choice Program Now Certified
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (October 9, 2007) - The Center for Resource Solutions announced today that Commerce Energy's "Clear Choice" renewable energy program in Texas is now Green-e certified, following prior certifications in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Commerce Energy is part of the network of renewable energy providers that offer products certified by Green-e, the nation's leading certification and verification program for renewable energy.

"Clear Choice is the only Green-e certified renewable electricity program offered in Texas," said Lars Kvale, Green-e analyst. "Green-e is pleased to, once again, welcome Commerce Energy to the Green-e Renewable Energy Certification Program. We are pleased that Commerce Energy's customers in Texas will have easy access to certified, local renewable energy through their utility."

Commerce Energy's Texas Clear Choice program is sourced from wind facilities located in Texas. The use of local resources for Clear Choice wind-generated electricity results in customer participation helping the local environment, while creating greater demand for development of renewable resources. Green-e certification of Clear Choice shows that Commerce Energy is committed to delivering quality renewable energy to its customers.

"We are particularly pleased to have earned certification from Green-e, an organization that sets high standards for our industry," said Thomas Ulry, Commerce Energy senior vice president, Sales and Marketing. "With our competitively priced, wind-generated electric service plans, Commerce Energy and our Clear Choice customers are helping to promote clean air and clear skies across Texas, Maryland and Pennsylvania, all without significantly increasing our customers' energy costs."

The Green-e program is the leading renewable energy certification and verification program in the U.S., with 208,000 residential customers and almost 7,000 commercial customers across the U.S. and Canada purchasing Green-e certified renewable energy, totaling nearly nine million MWhs of renewable energy in 2006. The program provides independent, third-party certification to ensure certified renewable energy meets strict environmental and consumer protection standards.

Through the display and recognition of the Green-e logo, the national symbol for renewable energy excellence, a growing number of consumers are able to easily identify high-quality, certified renewable energy options, as well as everyday consumer products that are produced by companies that use renewable energy in their operations.

Providers of Green-e certified renewable energy agree to abide by the Green-e Code of Conduct and meet strict Green-e disclosure and truth-in-advertising requirements. All Green-e marketers undergo an annual verification audit to document that the company purchased and/or generated enough quantity and type of renewable energy to meet customer demand and marketing claims.
