Green-e Energy Certifies Wisconsin Public
Power Inc.'s Green Power Programs

WPPI's Business and Residential Customers
Can Now Sign Up for a Certified Renewable Energy Option

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 4, 2008)—The Center for Resource Solutions announced today that Wisconsin Public Power Inc.'s (WPPI's) Green Power for Business and its companion program for residential customers is now Green-e Energy™ Certified. WPPI joins the growing network of renewable energy providers that offer products certified by Green-e Energy, the nation's leading certification and verification program for renewable energy. Both programs enable customers to make voluntary purchases of renewable energy from WPPI member utilities.

"We are very pleased to announce that WPPI is participating in Green-e Energy, offering certified renewable energy to all of its customers," said Andreas Karelas, Green-e program analyst. "WPPI is making it even easier for families and businesses to take action toward reducing their environmental footprint."

WPPI can now offer Green-e Energy Certified renewable electricity to residential and commercial customers. By purchasing WPPI renewable electricity, customers will support currently available renewable resources as well as aid the development of new renewables. WPPI's Green Power for Business and its companion program are sourced from a variety of renewable resources, including wind, biomass, and small hydro.

"WPPI and its members have demonstrated a substantial leadership commitment to promoting the use of renewable energy," WPPI President and CEO Roy Thilly said. "The fact that our programs meet the highest standards in the renewable energy industry is future evidence of our dedication toward working together with our member utilities and their customers to build a better energy future."

Green-e Energy is the leading renewable energy certification and verification program in the U.S., with over 220 participating vendors selling nearly 15.7 million MWh of renewable energy in 2007-over 65% of all renewable energy sold on the voluntary market. The program provides independent, third-party certification to ensure certified renewable energy meets strict environmental and consumer protection standards.

Providers of Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy agree to abide by the Green-e Energy Code of Conduct, and meet strict disclosure and truth-in-advertising requirements. All marketers of Green-e Energy Certified products undergo an annual verification audit to document that the company purchased and/or generated enough quantity and type of renewable energy to meet customer demand and marketing claims.

The Green-e logo, the national symbol for renewable energy excellence, enables a growing number of consumers to easily identify high quality, certified renewable energy options, as well as everyday consumer products that are produced by companies that use renewable energy in their operations.
