SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 19, 2011)—Center for Resource Solutions announced today that Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO)'s WindChoice, sourced from 100% wind power from within Oklahoma, is now Green-eŽ Energy Certified. WindChoice is the only certified green-power option in the state, and is available to PSO's commercial and residential customers. Public Service Company of Oklahoma, a unit of American Electric Power, joins the growing network of renewable energy providers that offer products certified by Green-e Energy, the nation's leading certification and verification program for renewable energy.

"We are pleased that households and businesses in Oaklahoma now have a certified wind option from resources within their home state," said Green-e Energy Manager Alex Pennock. "Oklahoma is rich in wind power, and now residents can take advantage of their resources to power their lives with clean energy from their own backyard."

PSO's wind installations are located throughout Oklahoma. Residential and commercial customers of WindChoice support currently available renewable resources and growth of the program will aid in the development of new renewable resources in North America.

"PSO is proud to offer Oklahoma residents their first certified 100 percent renewable energy option," said Kathy Champion, PSO Energy Efficiency and Consumer Programs manager. "We think it's important that the energy we use comes from domestic energy supplies as much as possible and we think Oklahoma can continue to be a leader in the clean energy revolution."

Green-e Energy is the leading renewable energy certification and verification program in the U.S., with nearly 300 participating vendors that sold over 23 million MWh of renewable electricity in retail transactions in 2010. The program provides independent, third-party certification to ensure certified renewable energy meets strict environmental and consumer protection standards.

Providers of Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy agree to abide by the Green-e Energy Code of Conduct, and meet strict disclosure and truth-in-advertising requirements. All marketers of Green-e Energy Certified products undergo an annual third-party verification audit to document that the company purchased or generated enough quantity and type of renewable energy to meet customer demand and marketing claims.
