Green-e Energy Certifies Marin Energy Authority's Deep Green 100% Wind Option

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (May 17, 2012) Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) today announced that Marin Energy Authority's Deep Green 100% renewable energy product is now certified by Green-e® Energy. Marin Energy Authority joins the growing network of clean energy providers that offer products certified by Green-e Energy, the nation's leading certification and verification program for renewable energy.

"Marin Energy Authority has worked hard to provide the residents of Marin County the ability to choose 100% renewable energy," said Alex Pennock, Manager of Green-e Energy. "It is an excellent example of the power of community choice to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels."

The Marin Energy Authority is a not-for-profit public agency that oversees the Marin Clean Energy program, a community power agency serving Marin County, California. Marin Clean Energy offers its customers a 100% renewable energy option from wind power generated in Klickitat and Sherman Counties, Oregon. These customers will support currently available renewable resources and growth of the program will bolster in the development of new renewable resources in the West.

"We're proud to offer Marin 100% renewable energy and we are excited that we now extend our customers the added assurance of the nation's premier green power certification which will give our customers sound confidence in their renewable energy purchase," said Dawn Weisz, Marin Energy Authority Executive Officer. "We are honored to partner with the Center for Resource Solutions, which has done so much to grow the renewable energy market in North America."

Green-e Energy is the leading renewable energy certification and verification program in the U.S., with nearly 300 participating vendors selling over 30 million megawatt hours of renewable electricity in retail transactions in 2011. The program provides independent, third-party certification to ensure certified renewable energy meets strict environmental and consumer protection standards.

Providers of Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy agree to abide by the Green-e Energy Code of Conduct, and meet strict disclosure and truth-in-advertising requirements. All marketers of Green-e Energy Certified products undergo an annual third-party verification audit to document that the company purchased or generated enough quantity and type of renewable energy to meet customer demand and marketing claims.
