Stream Energy's Clean Nation Renewable Energy Now Green-e Energy Certified

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 15, 2012)—Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) today announced that Stream Energy's new renewable energy certificate (REC) product, "Stream Energy Clean Nation REC," is now certified by Green-e® Energy. Stream Energy joins the growing network of renewable energy providers that offer products certified by Green-e Energy, North America's leading certification and verification program for renewable energy.

"With this new renewable energy product, Stream Energy has the potential to introduce many new households and businesses to clean, renewable wind power" said Alex Pennock, Manager of Green-e Energy. "By increasing voluntary demand for green power, Stream Energy is helping move us closer to a cleaner, greener future."

Dallas, TX–based Stream Energy is sourcing the renewable energy for Clean Nation Renewable Energy from wind facilities located in the U.S. and offering it to residential and commercial customers nationwide. These customers will support currently available renewable resources and growth of the program will aid in the development of new renewable resources in North America.

"We are very excited to partner with Green-e Energy as we prepare to launch our new Clean Nation by Stream Energy program," said Stream Energy chairman Rob Snyder. "Through Clean Nation, customers throughout the United States will be able to join us in promoting the clean energy movement and greater energy independence for America."

Green-e Energy is the leading renewable energy certification and verification program in North America, with nearly 300 participating vendors selling over 30 million megawatt hours of renewable electricity in retail transactions in 2011. The program provides independent, third-party certification to ensure that certified renewable energy meets strict environmental and consumer protection standards.

Providers of Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy agree to abide by the Green-e Energy Code of Conduct, and meet strict disclosure and truth-in-advertising requirements. All marketers of Green-e Energy Certified products undergo an annual third-party verification audit to document that the company purchased or generated enough quantity and type of renewable energy to meet customer demand and marketing claims.
