Bamboo Paneling in
Entry
The new CRS Building has bamboo paneling in the entry way. Bamboo is a
rapidly renewable resource (mature for harvesting in 4-5 years) used as a substitute
for other popular hardwoods such as Oak, Cherry, Maple, and rainforest hardwoods
(which take 30-40 years to mature). It grows in various parts of the world, is
easy to produce, and produces four to five times more biomass than the trees
commonly felled for wood production. There are a number of attractive flooring
products made from bamboo. This product is a flexible tambour panel made in China
by Plyboo.
